Thursday we started the day with a shopping trip to the local mall - it was hotter than many of us expected and the need for cooler shirts and shades was a must! Strange thing though, in true male style there was some complaining about "shopping"....however if memory serves correctly I think the men came home with a lot more bags than the women!!
After
enjoying a nice lunch at the hotel , spending a little time gathering in
the "Home Room" we all headed down to DC's real Mall to enjoy the festivities.
Wendy did a great job as our shuttle tour guide!! We managed to find
seats on the steps of the Capitol!! How cool is that!! We survived
the heat and enjoyed the show and the fireworks ~ I am sure I wasn't the
only one with tears in my eyes as we sang the National Anthem....

Then
it was back to "Home Room" for more festivities...is this when we learned
the tune to Fuliculi, Fulicula???? Has anyone gotten it out of their
head yet????
